Ruhani means soulful, and Royale sets the register: this is a bib built for ceremony, worked in warm antique gold-toned metal with a soft, lightly aged finish rather than a high shine. The name suits a piece that is grand without being loud. Its weight sits low and central, deepest at the front, and the whole composition leads the eye down to a single round disc. It is the kind of jewellery that carries a moment rather than decorates one.
The bib sits on the collarbone, opening from fluted end-caps where several strands of pearl-look seed beads run back to the clasp. Curving rows of white flat-cut Polki-style stones step down the neckline, each outlined in crystal-look stones. At the centre, a shield-shaped panel holds a large triangular white stone framed by deep red-toned petals, flanked by two matching panels, and below it hangs a round chandbali disc ringed from the outside in with red-toned petals, crystal-look outlining and white pear-shaped stones. Cream pearl-look clusters tipped with red-toned beads fringe the lower edge. The set comes as three pieces: the necklace, matching chandbali danglers, and a matching maang tikka.
This is bridal territory: weddings, receptions, engagement ceremonies and the sangeet, and the larger festive evenings where a full set is expected. The cream and deep red read warmly against maroon, rust, wine and deep bronze outfits, and against ivory it goes quiet and formal. Give it a deep or wide neckline so the disc hangs clear of the fabric, and let the tikka sit on the parting. Worn by a bride or borrowed within the family, it holds its own.
