Vanya means of the forest, and the name reads clearly across this set: green cabochons set into gold-toned filigree, leaf and floral scrollwork through the band, and a crescent at the centre. The temple in the name is the other half of it, the tapered pendant panel below the crescent drawing on South Indian temple jewellery. The two ideas sit together well, a forest palette held inside an architectural frame, worn in the antique finish that tradition is usually shown in.
The choker sits at the base of the neck as a curved band of antique gold-toned filigree in floral and leaf scrollwork, studded with small white flat-cut Kundan-style stones. Four round green-toned cabochon discs sit two to a side, each ringed in pearl-look seed beads and carrying a raised floral motif of two deep red-toned teardrops with white petals either side. A green-toned crescent holds the centre, horns up, above a ribbed bar and a tapered temple panel filled with white flat-cut stones around a single red-toned centre. A fringe of pearl-look and textured gold-toned beads finishes it. The matching jhumkas repeat the disc stud above a pierced filigree bell.
