Three words, three colours. Rajsi speaks to the regal register the piece is pitched at, Panna is green, and Gulnaar is the deep red of pomegranate. The name reads like the collar itself: red running in curved lines through the body, green appearing twice, and a bright polished finish holding it all together. It belongs to the older court style of Indian jewellery, where colour was placed deliberately rather than scattered, and a necklace was built to sit high and close at the throat.
This is a short, dense choker worked in bright gold-toned metal, closing at the back on several strands of pearl-look seed beads running up each side. Two curving rows of red-toned leaf-shaped stones travel along the collar, interlocked with white flat-cut Kundan-style stones and small green-toned rounds. A rectangular panel sits at the centre front, a large green-toned square framed by a grid of white flat-cut stones in bezels. The lower edge is a deep fringe of white pear-shaped stones, dark green tumbled beads and packed pearl-look clusters, longest beneath the centre. The matching jhumkas repeat the same panel above a domed bell and its own green-tipped fringe.
This one is made for weddings and the ceremonies around them: mehndi, sangeet, receptions, and the bigger Diwali and Karwa Chauth evenings. The red and green sit well on cream, ivory and off-white outfits, and on a red or deep green lehenga they read as one deliberate palette. Because it sits high and close, pair it with a wide or boat neckline and keep the blouse plain. A single pair of bangles is enough alongside it.
