The colour runs the full length of the piece in a single line of deep royal blue, and the five motifs across the front are set the way a row of birds sits on a wire, evenly spaced and all facing the same way. It is a rajsi haar, the shorter court-style length that sits on the collarbone rather than the chest.
One continuous line of deep royal blue faceted beads runs from the back to the front, separated by small gold-toned spacers. Across the lower front sit five gold-toned motifs in a row, each filled with pale clear detail, the middle one slightly larger and marked with a curved band of deep blue. From every motif falls a soft cluster of round ivory-toned and small blue beads, so the front edge reads as a fringe rather than a hard line. The matching earrings carry the same motif above the same cluster.
Blue is the useful part: it is one of the few colours that reads as festive without reading as bridal, so the set carries an engagement, a Diwali dinner or a family wedding you are attending rather than hosting.
